You will see the recipient named, their band number along with people in each household who were eligible treaty members. Life Chief Michel Dokis band member #1 is named followed by members of his household. William Dokis is originally listed as a member of Michel Dokis’s household but in 1874 received his own “ticket” with his own household members listed. The Pay List provides clues that are helpful for tracing, cross-referencing genealogy research, and the movement of people throughout their lifetimes. It’s a helpful resource for tracing family lineage.Excerpts from BooksChief Michel D’Aigle Dokis’ activities and the community of Dokis are included in many diverse types of historical publications and books.
